And in love he chose us before he laid the foundation of the universe! Because of his great love, he ordained us, so that we would be seen as holy in his eyes with an unstained innocence. For it was always in his perfect plan to adopt us as his delightful children, through our union with Jesus, the Anointed One, so that his tremendous love that cascades over us would glorify his grace - for the same love he has for the Beloved, Jesus, he has for us. And this unfolding plan brings him great pleasure! Ephesians 1:4-6 TPT

Adoption is God’s idea and it is a great idea! God wants every child to be embraced by someone who will care for them, protect and provide for and most of all love them. His perfect plan can also mean “He marked out our horizon [destiny] beforehand.”

The church is the ideal place to ‘raise up adoption’ by finding precious couples and families to take care of those who might otherwise face death by abortion or other tragic circumstances. God has placed the desire to adopt a child on many hearts even those who have children. The numbers of children given up for adoption in Australia has dropped dramatically to a precious few when abortion was legalized over fifty three years ago, and viable lives are being robbed of their God given life on earth.

There has been a lot of fear attached to adoption yet countless adults who are adoptees are very grateful and love their adopted family. There are many ways that those in the local church can support those who adopt - lightening the load as issues arise through extra prayer, financial help, baby-sitting, practical help, and counselling.

The old adage it takes a village to raise a child can be seen to work particularly well among those who love the Lord, and His family, who are willing to spread his love wider. It is like growing a garden - it will take time to establish but will take root and flourish and create healthy living for families and singles to flourish. God has been raising up people to assist those wanting to adopt, one successful example in the USA is Christian Adoption Consultants. It would be great to see many more similar raised up across Australia.

Prayer

Heavenly Father we thank you for those who have courageously given up their child for adoption, and for those who have generously given of themselves to adopt a child. Lord we ask for grace to help those who have this call on their lives hidden in their hearts to take steps to find the connections of children into families by your Holy Spirit. Lord shift the mindset of our culture fed by media and movies - that adoption is fraught with disaster. Lord we ask for grace to help your church rise up with safe, effective adoption assistance that children will be partakers of your heart of love and mercy through adoption. Lord wash the reputation of your church clean and raise her up to be the most diligent and pure advocates for all children - including those in the womb. Let love motivate and sustain this powerful redemptive work in Jesus wonderful Name, Amen.

Prayer Points:

Adoption placement for every vulnerable and at risk baby and child in Australia. Energy and provision for the righteous believers to step into position to be the hands and feet and heart of Jesus who said "Let the little children come to me!"
The churches and believers in Sydney to have their hearts listening to Gods heart for September 23rd Love Sydney – Walk for Life 2023. That as we stand for life as one we are of one accord and reveal Jesus to the powers of darkness.
Those on the frontline preparing for the Love Sydney Walk for Life 2023 2pm in Hyde Park near the Archibald Fountain, the leaders, volunteers, and guest speakers. For good working sound systems, technicians, security, parking, great weather and more people have all obstacles removed to be able to awaken and come out to stand for life.
Success for media coverage, for the word to spread to all the righteous.
Protection for everyone in the pro-life movement – all to be hidden and effective! Psalm 91
We pray for every state and territory of Australia to come together to stand for life! For hearts to be awakened and every Christian to rally to rescue the unborn as the church rises up to Walk for Life Sydney 23rd Sept 2023 “Walk for Life Adelaide” 10th Feb 2024 and “March for Life” Brisbane - date TBA, Mackay “March for the Babies” October, “March for the Babies” Saturday 7th Oct 2023 Treasury Gardens to the Melbourne Parliament, Melbourne. Pray for every Territory and State in our Nation to join in and hold rallies and walks for life in their cities.

These current Pro-Life Issues before Parliaments:

Pray that abortion will not increase in Australia. The ACT Government has announced it will provide free abortions from mid 2023. As Medicare sadly already cover the costs for all Australian women having abortions this is likely to be for overseas students, those on work visas and those here on holiday having abortions paid from Australian taxes. This is currently being debated in the Upper House in Western Australia - their Abortion Legislation Reform Bill 2023 has been labelled by some as the most radical abortion law in the world. Pray they include the 4 clauses from the South Australian Termination of Pregnancy Act 2021.
Pray that The Human Rights (Children Born Alive Protection) Bill 2022 be passed speedily in 2023. This Bill will protect babies who are currently, in most States of Australia, being left to die after a failed abortion. This protection for such babies is currently law in NSW (2019) and SA (2021) as amendments to the state Termination of Pregnancy Acts. This Federal Bill, if passed, will make this legislation National. Pray for protection for the three Federal Senators Alex Antic (Liberal Party) Matthew Canavan
